If a student completes games in a unit in HD Word during the current school year and is assigned HD Word the next school year, is their progress on the games reset so they can complete them again, or does it save their progress from the prior year?
On or around July 1st of each year accounts associated with the Reading and Vocabulary Playgrounds or InferCabulary are taken through a process called Year-to-Year Transition. During this time, the system automatically closes out one school year and starts the next. During this transition, the following happens:
- A snapshot of student data is taken to capture school year activity.
- Students are removed from classes.
- Licenses are removed from students.
Upon setting up the next school year, the following happens:
- Student profiles will be matched by Student IDs and the previous school year’s data will be added to the student’s Activity Profile.
- Grade-levels will advance by one.
- Students will have their data and progress restored for a program if they are assigned a license for the same program as the previous school year.
We are excited that Really Great Reading is able to offer to connect data in student profiles from one year to the next. For this data to appear, each student needed to have a student ID number connected to his or her profile. This allows our system to ensure data is being matched to the correct student.
